First off, I have to mention Kinky Kristmas on daily_deviant. I don't feel like I can rec from KK because I'm a mod and therefore know who wrote/drew everything, and also because I wouldn't even know how to choose what to rec. Everything posted so far has been phenomenal -- everyone really put their best foot forward for this -- and I highly recommend browsing through the posts.

Seeing his wife standing there at the counter, kneading the dough for the rolls, he came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing the back of her neck. "Did you know that you are the most beautiful woman in the universe?"

Alstromeria laughed. "Why do you think I had to grow such a nose? To keep from being more beautiful than Aphrodite, of course," she said, and powdered Jim's nose with flour.

He released her to her cooking and wandered over to the counter where the sauce for the plum pudding was chilling. "Where's India?"

"With your father."

"And Lyon?"

Allie put the pan of dough into the oven. "He finished his nap about quarter past and I think your dad has him, as well."

"So, where's my dad?"

Alstromeria turned around and leaned against the counter, wiping her hands off on the towel again. "Last I saw, with my dad, practically sitting in his lap on the sofa." She rolled her eyes.

"They're still pretending we don't know?"

"Darling," she said, kissing him on the cheek. "Sometimes they're still pretending they don't know."

Tried to locate info for the LIS paper/project - can someone explain to me why no software companies are willing to put any PRICES ON THEIR #@($*&$#*^ PRODUCTS? I realize that there will be variables based on what components for the system are required, and how many licences, and so forth, but there still ought to be SOME kind of ballpark pricing info out there that does not require actually contacting the effing company. *is immensely frustrated* I swear, I'm just gonna have to make up some prices, and put a note in at the end of the write-up to explain that I did so, and why. So stupid. If I were really trying to buy a system, I would not want to have to call a dozen software companies and tell them all about what I needed just to get preliminary cost estimates. Waste of my time. Reason #437 to think that capitalism sucks the mighty whang...
